Dr Burgess’ consultations allow diagnosis and treatment of patients presenting with common symptoms of heart disease such as:

  • Chest pain
  • Breathlessness
  • Palpitations
  • Blackouts/dizziness

In addition consultations are available to address:

  • High blood pressure
  • High cholesterol
  • Cardiovascular risk assessment
  • Occupational aspects of heart disease

Dr. Burgess has an established reputation as an experienced and accredited Clinical Cardiologist having qualified in Medicine in 1993 and trained in cardiology since 1996 (appointed Consultant in 2007). He provides comprehensive invasive and non-invasive services for patients with all types of heart disease. Dr. Burgess has extensive experience in echocardiography, a technique integral to the assessment of most types of heart disease, from local training to international lectures and multiple collaborative research programmes. His MD Thesis in echocardiography was followed by a Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Queensland, Australia. Dr Burgess is an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Liverpool, has published over 50 articles in peer-reviewed journals and regularly takes part in training and examining junior doctors.

Appointments are available on the NHS (at Aintree University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust) or privately (at the Sefton Suite Private Patient Unit – Aintree Hospital/Kenilworth Road, Crosby in which case patients can usually be accommodated within 24-48 hours.
